Leica M10 Firmware Update: Improved SD Card Reliability

With the new firmware if I do an exposure compensation (any) the general info before the shot shows it correctly but after the shot, in play mode, the photo informations show always as if it was taken to -3.

Someone else with same defect ?

I have the same problem.

After this new firmware my M10 has the same two problems as before: that quoted by Berlinman Immediately above and the fact that my Elmar 24 asph (coded in factory) is not recognized.

Ahead with new adventures...

I have the same problem as well. What i found interesting is, if i have a picture with exposure compensation and use only left and right arrow to navigate through the pictures, the EC value stays correct. As soon as I press up and down button, then it goes to -3.

I am rather suspect of this report of a firmware update, as it is not listed on the Leica sites, and I hesitate to upload it to my M10. What do you guys think?

It is definitely an official firmware update:

I have no idea why it is not listed via the search function on the Leica website...

Good catch. I reproduced the same problem. After using up/down arrows EC never goes back to the correct value again. Perhaps the image file is altered with wrong EC information.

Probably you did not copy the downloaded firmware properly onto the storage card. Did you really copy it to the root? When you look at the content of your card on your PC or Mac then the firmware is NOT in any folder. The best thing is to delete all folders that you see on your card (e.g. DCIM) to make sure that you have the firmware really in the root segment and not in any folder.

SORRY.  WILLEICA described correct before: 'The greyed out 1.7.4.0 is as it should be. The previous version of the firmware was greyed out before the update. The firmware description only becomes live if an SD card with new firmware is loaded. '

Can somebody help me. Bought an M10 yesterday. Can't update the firmware because the existing firmware 1.3.4.0 is greyed out.

Thanks

Take a picture with the card in. Then the camera will see the new firmware. That was the case for me anyway. Good luck.
