Metz flash?

Recommended Posts

Maybe.

It does not state Leica Q specifically, and the addition of Olympus and Panasonic suggests compatability with the Dlux and Vlux cameras. It would certainly not be compatible with M or SL, for instance.

You will have to ask Leica and/or Metz.

Thanks.

Probably best to quote the post you refer to:

On my asking directly to Metz, received following replay.

"Please be informed that there are 2 completely different Leica flash control systems which are absolutely not compatible to each other.

For Leica digital cameras of M series, T series, X series and also the new Q series only the Leica branded flash unit 'Leica SF-26' is compatible.

The Metz branded version of mecablitz 26 AF-1 digital (Olympus / Panasonic / Leica version) is NOT compatible with the new digital camera Leica Q."

I'm going to give you a qualified "yes."  I have a large Metz side-handle type that takes the Metz adapter mentioned in the Q instruction manual. I also have a smaller Metz that takes the adapter. Both worked on my X-1. So, Metz has Leica's requirements. I have not tried them on my Q, but Leia says they'll wok.
