from the top of an exhaustingly long, claustrophobic spiraling staircase of the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence. Well worth the climb. If you can do this, you can climb the Duomo itself, the subject of this photograph. 35lux w/polariser.

after climbing up inside the dome theres a narrow terrace one person wide around the inside, from where this view was taken. its very high & the dome itself is another 180 well trodden stone steps to the top. X-Vario at 28mm.
