Andy,  I like this -- but largely for the abstraction of its shapes and textures and perspective. I may even have preferred it without the people, oddly enough (never a very helpful comment, I know: they're there!). There is such a pure and timeless and isolated landscape there -- and one thinks of some of HC-B's landscapes where the emphasis is almost entirely own landscape-as-abstraction... Anyway, as usual, much enjoyed and food for thought.

Aha -- I see! I wonder if that earlier one is what I was thinking of? In any case, the present version is preferable, I think -- the crop/perspective of the earlier one excludes much of that winding, looping path and the echoing wall, and that is what gives this present version such a rhythm. It's almost like calligraphy.  We'll have to live with the walkers :)
