Guys

I am confused as anything.

Simple question does Leica provide a full copy of lightroom with a M-P m240 camera?

I am not interested in some cloud service or some 90 day trial version.

After April of 2016, the included perpetual license for Lightroom was discontinued in Leica products. It was replaced by a three-month trial of Lightroom using the Adobe subscription mechanism.

I can only imagine that this was forced on Leica by Adobe's own push to eliminate the perpetual license version of Lightroom. The perpetual license version of Lightroom is still available with Lightroom 6, but all bets are off as to whether it survives when Lightroom 7 is released (whenever that might be).

I have been using Adobe products professionally pretty much since they were invented, I have watched the way they have moved forwards and developed products over the years. I am 100% convinced there will never be a stand-alone Lightroom 7, the subscription model is the way of the future, Lightroom CC is the only way forward.

I hope you are correct.  I believe the existence of the perpetual license version of Lightroom has slowed its development relative to the other CC products.  In the universe of Adobe Creative Cloud applications Lightroom is the only one to remain as a 2015 version. The rest are all 2017 releases and have been since 2016. Lightroom is in serious need of a major revision to address performance issues, but I suspect Adobe believes a two year (or so) development cycle is appropriate for a perpetual license program. So the Cloud version languishes as well.
