wattsy Posted June 8, 2017 Share #5 Posted June 8, 2017 There was an Antony Gormley sculpture here for a while until it fell victim to the sea. I think the Landmark Trust (who own the habitable tower visible in Vieri's photo) reinstated it until a boulder knocked it down for a second time and they promptly gave up. Vieri Posted June 10, 2017 Author Share #6 Posted June 10, 2017 There was an Antony Gormley sculpture here for a while until it fell victim to the sea. I think the Landmark Trust (who own the habitable tower visible in Vieri's photo) reinstated it until a boulder knocked it down for a second time and they promptly gave up. Yes indeed, and apparently Sir Antony was "thrilled" that the sculpture had been toppled since it showed its relationship with the elements, or something like that Me, I am "photographically agnostic" about its presence: I understand it might have served as a focal point for a composition, but on the other hand I prefer natural landscapes to look as natural as possible, so I am fine either way. For instance, at Kimmeridge I am happy about the tower as a point of interest in the composition, but much less happy about the slightly cluttered housings below it on the coast line... but again, that's just me Best regards, Vieri
