cocker Posted June 23, 2007 Share #1 Posted June 23, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just back from a very enjoyable short holiday in Valletta, Malta - not least of which was the pleasure of meeting up with Ivan Azzopardi and his partner (Ivan - I tried to PM you today but apparently your PM box is full and won't take any more messages until you clear some out!!). I came back with over 500 shots on the M8 and 8 rolls of 120 film from the Rolleiflex so these are just a few random early shots of this beautiful and fascinating city. More to follow:)

jmr Posted June 23, 2007 Share #2 Posted June 23, 2007 Keith, now those are what I call colour photographs - clear and vibrant.
stuny Posted June 23, 2007 Share #3 Posted June 23, 2007 Keith - I'm pleased you got to meet the utterly delightful Ivan and M (You may have noticed that I don't give the names of the significant others unless released to do so). I'm also pleased you were able to visit Valletta, which in some ways makes me think of Taormina in Sicily. In a future Malta visit I strongly encourage you to visit al least Mdina as well. Your photos are delightful, too, with wonderful colors, framing, sharpness and exposure. I assume the two bus photos are just outside the gate to Valletta in Floriana. Artichoke Posted June 23, 2007 Share #5 Posted June 23, 2007 my only quibble is that these are spaced too close together in your post it is hard to know where one photograph ends & another begins it reminds of the Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia, where the paintings are so closely displayed as to be overwhelming a bit of intervening text or even empty space would display these gorgeous photographs better
cocker Posted June 23, 2007 Author Share #6 Posted June 23, 2007 John, Stuart, Louis, Arthur, Thanks for your comments. much appreciated. John, the light in Malta at this time of year was wonderful and its interaction with the limestone buildings was a gift! Stuart, we stayed at the Phoenicia so each day I had a chance to catch the buses - although I didn't find a good opportunity to get one of the Thames buses which must be the oldest still running on the island. We did go to Mdina for a day - watch this space for some pictures. Louis, thanks very much. I wonder what your Euston flats would have looked like with some Maltese sun! Arthur, I agree - but I don't know how to separate out the pictures on the forum - is there a way to do it? Best wishes
Artichoke Posted June 23, 2007 Share #7 Posted June 23, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) this is not entirely intuitive there are a number of different ways to embed a photograph ...this post helps explain the technique http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/customer-forum/2341-posting-multiple-images-threads.html first upload your photographs using the "Manage Attachments" button found by scrolling down from the reply page then type your response and use the paper clip above the response typing box to embed the photographs in your message the link goes over this in more detail photographs as lovely as yours deserve a better presentation
