Most likely, size is the main benefit of the Elmar over the Elmarit. If you buy the Elmar new, you also get the benefit of the warranty. If you buy either used, the Elmar is likely to be less expensive. I purchased my Elmar, used and pretty much mint, from Tamarkin for $1,395.
