fotografr Posted June 23, 2007 Share #1 Posted June 23, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) As long as we're doing sunrises and sunsets, might as well throw these into the mix from this evening. In the second shot, the building in the distance is reflecting the sunset off its glass front. M8, 24mm.
Advertisement Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 Hi fotografr, Take a look here Madison Sunset. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
andybarton Posted June 23, 2007 Share #2 Posted June 23, 2007 The second one is really interesting Brent. The orange contrast against the deep blue is spot on. You do get some great sunsets there - I know you have posted some in the city before. Is the atmosphere dusty at high level?
cam2000 Posted June 23, 2007 Share #3 Posted June 23, 2007 Beautiful composition and high saturation of colors...... giving the feeling on long Summer nights.
stuny Posted June 23, 2007 Share #4 Posted June 23, 2007 Brent - Both are lovely, with excellent composition, depth and saturation. I really like how just enough detail of the bench in #2 shows.
martinop Posted June 23, 2007 Share #5 Posted June 23, 2007 Both are intersting i.e. framing (including the tree branches) & warm sunset lighting in #1 to highlight the walkway, bench and ladder. In #2, I like the bench in the foreground and the sunset reflection off the building in the background.
fotografr Posted June 23, 2007 Author Share #6 Posted June 23, 2007 Thank you Andy, Jacques, Stuart and Paul. Andy--Madison actually is just a bit above sea level. I think the reason for our great sunrises and sunsets is unfortunately atmospheric pollution that blows across our area from the west, although the air does appear clean and clear. We don't have the visible smog of some larger metropolitan areas.
Artichoke Posted June 23, 2007 Share #7 Posted June 23, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) lovely colors & finely rendered photographs the first has very sweet light and at first sight was my favorite, but the second grew on me ...that bench is very inviting lovely work btw, I agree that pollution can make for some extraordinary sunsets here is one that illustrates your point this was taken with a Fuji S3 ...even wicked things can sometimes harbor beauty
