Got my Leica SL last week - have been trying to figure out how I can take long exposure shots in manual mode. Max I have been able to do is 60 seconds. Didn't find it in the manual either.

Any help will be really appreciated.

Hello Enbee,

what FW version are you running? After FW 2.0, you should be able to use Manual mode up to 30 minutes, and metering will work as normal (as opposed to bulb where you have to do your own calculations and keep the shutter open).

Best regards,

Vieri

Thank You Vieri. I updated to FW 2.2 - but I was unable to get it to 30 min. I follow the following steps:

1. Switch to Manual Mode

2. Aperture to F22

3. Update shutter speed - I only get to 60 seconds

Is there something I am missing?

Thank You!

what do you mean by 'update shutter speed' ??

with 'M' set on the press/rotate rear dial and any shutter/iso set you can rotate the shutter speed selector anti-clockwise through all the speeds to 30minutes and then B

Manual mode

Aperture setting makes no difference.

Turn rear dial until you see B and than back off one. Should be 30 minutes.

If you really cannot get any longer exposure times, I'd bring the camera to Leica and have it checked.

As the gentlemen said. In M mode, you should be able to turn past 60 seconds no matter what your aperture is. Best regards,
