Advertisement Posted May 26, 2017 Posted May 26, 2017 Hi ianman, Take a look here Summilux 75mm F1.4 vs Hexanon 60mm F1.2 limited. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
reddot925 Posted May 26, 2017 Author Share #22 Posted May 26, 2017 (edited) It's not quite clear yet, are you a user or a collector/investor ? I'm not sure if I'm between just these two/three choices, if I were just a user I'd already be happy with a set of the excellent Summicrons or Summiluxes or if I'm a collector I'd be happy to keep expensive unused or even unopened gear on a shelf. I'm also definitely not a photographic equipments investor as I humbly feel hoping for certain manmade items to appreciate is not really investing. So, if I had to classify as I'd say I'm more of a high end gearhead, I enjoy trying different well designed or well engineered camera and lens, and it's a bonus for it to gain in value when I'm no longer making use of them and I can still sell it for profit. Ecar Posted May 26, 2017 Share #23 Posted May 26, 2017 Nicely summed up profile. I guess it applies more or less to many of us here.
ianman Posted May 26, 2017 Share #24 Posted May 26, 2017 i was just asking because although my M9 has a new best friend at the moment (Summaron 28mm) I can't envisage the time when I would leave my 75 Summilux on the shelf :-)
Guest Posted May 26, 2017 Share #25 Posted May 26, 2017 I don't envisage my 1.2/60mm Hexanon either because it is in a bank safe for a couple of years now. Tested it on an M9 with an adapter ring before buying it and that was it, untill I'll retire. Then there will be plenty of time for more. LucisPictor Posted May 26, 2017 Share #26 Posted May 26, 2017 Keep the Lux 75. If you got into financial problems one day, you could sell it and it would help you a lot. Just in case, you still want a 75mm, consider the Voigtländer 2.5/75 then.

The grease may have become very dry by then.

I believe the term you're looking for is a "boffin" In the endearing rather than the derogatory fashion.
reddot925 Posted May 31, 2017 Author Share #29 Posted May 31, 2017 I did it! Switch the Summilux to the Hexanon, so far enjoying the focal length, regret may set in later! https://flickr.com/photos/146800012@N04/sets/72157681396835624 Look forward to feedback and thank you all for your advice and encouragement.

reddot925 Posted May 31, 2017 Author Share #31 Posted May 31, 2017 @JMF thanks! Just left the lens selection on Auto, it seems to show up as R to M adapter when nothing is selected. Saw your pictures on Flickr, beautiful!

reddot925 Posted June 2, 2017 Author Share #34 Posted June 2, 2017 reddot, have you tried Konica M Dual? Unfortunately not yet, the 60mm is the first lens from Konica I've used.
