HI, I've just received my M10 today, I took a photo and look at the image number it started from L1009001, it is a bit strange to me. I expected it should be started from L1000001 but no idea why it is 9001 ? all the packing are unopened. I hope it is not used by anyone before.

May I know what is the image number you guys start from ?

Thanks in advance.

Additionally - if you pop in an SD card previously used with a Leica camera (i.e. it already has a DCIM > LEICA image folder with a Leica-numbered image in it, like L1009234.DNG) - the camera will automatically reset to start from that number + 1, so as to prevent you from ever in the future having two files with the exact same number, that might overwrite one another at some time and destroy a picture.

My M10, which has taken 900 or so "real" exposures so far, just reset itself to L1007864 because I accidentally put in one of my SD cards from my M9. It "saw" there was already an image numbered L1007863.DNG, and reset to that number + 1.
