Guess I finally got on the Grackle's nerves, or maybe he's just going somewhere to get out of the rain.

Interesting image Brent. I assume you shot just as the wings reached the folded position during flight.

The focus is spot on too, with just the right amount of shutter speed to show the rain as falling.

Thanks, Erl. Correct. Flaps down on take off.

And thank you, Dee.

I think I'm going to quit harassing the birds with my cameras now and just enjoy looking and listening.

....that would really be pity, but I don't think I believe a word of it.

That's funny. It seems nobody else who knows me believes it either. Now I'm feeling predictable. ;)

Tom and Stuart, thanks very much.

Pass along my thanks to her. I'll check with our library. I'm not too happy with our starlings at the moment. Yesterday I was observing a flock of about a dozen cedar waxwings in a bush at the very back of the garden. It was a beautiful sight, then a big starling flew in and scared them all away. :( :(
