Is the M-10 becoming more readily available?

I was initially on the M-10 waiting list with Ffordes in Scotland, but had my name removed from that list. I see my mate in KL has now got a M-10 so I guess they have made there way to Asia.

Decisions decisions, I find the SL is perfect for my M lenses, but I like the look of the silver M-10. Has anyone ever used a Noctilux 0.95 on a M-10......might have asked that question already, but never mind no harm done in asking twice :) :) :)

I also initially saiid I would give my SL to my son in law and just shoot S008 but I still have those memories of lugging that brick around Switzerland and Venice all day........... not the ideal travel companion is that S00 whatever

Anyways I still have 11 days left on this rig to sweat it out :)

Hahahaha.

You're getting boring..... far too predictable. But at least you're more inclined to remember past fits and starts, even if only to repeat them.

Now now mutton deaf.....just asking questions, thats what people do on forums "ask questions"

There is an article in this months LFI magazine that discusses using Noctilux on both M10 and SL with supporting pictures. Certainly answers the question you ask. https://lfi-online.de/ceemes/

That costs 10 bucks...................JeffS is for free and with more details :) :)

And sometimes they even take the time to review discussions already devoted to the topic.

If you want one, you should be able to get one. I was on s list, content to wait, but when I heard about the price increase, I made enough calls to small dealers to find 2 in a couple of days, with one dealer willing to trade my M240.

Here's a question for you... did you ever wonder if you'd be a better photographer if you had less money to jump from gear to gear?

Strange question, but I will try and answer it..............

# 1 I already think I am an okay photographer.

# 2 I do photography for a hobby 100% of the time

# 3 Cameras and lenses are just tools (some supposedly better than others)

#4 Ive had many cars from fast ones to slow ones......I do not consider if my driving will be better or not with each new car

#5 You JeffS change cameras as much as me...are you a better photographer with your M-10 verses you M240??????

I googled it, I can't see a thread on using the Noctilux on the M-10 and SL anywhere except for paying 10 bucks for the privilege !!

You're delusional. My first digital camera after giving up film was the M8.2 in 2009. I still have it. I added an M 240 in 2013, and just traded it 4 years later on the M10 because of the better VF for my aging eyes. That's it for my current gear.

You make that many changes and additions about every 3 months.

The question was a serious one. It's not about how good of a photographer you are now, or why you do it, it's whether less gear changes would allow / force you to gain a richer experience in other ways.

Oh, and the thread on M10 "Availability" is now 59 pages long.

Jeff

My question was about Noctilux on the M-10 verses SL

Okay so lets take this a step father.

I currently have these digital cameras

SL....nice for walk abuts

S007.......for studio and in the back of the car camera

Nikon D5...........Wildlife and birds

Reasonable.....I think so

Film Cameras

Hasselblad 503.....nice travel camera if I fancy shooting film

Wisner 4 x 5......... nice landscape/portrait camera if I want to show off

Reasonable I think so

Histoty

I bought the SL as I wanted to shoot a Noctilux again after trading all my M gear for the S006

The S007 replaced my S006............it was an upgrade that everyone should do if they can afford it

The Nikon D5 replaced my D4s...........maybe a little extravagant seeing as I only go on safari once a year (but I like new toys)

Hasselblad 503 was bought as I wanted to try and shoot film..........im still enjoying that

Wisner 4 x 5......I bought that as you and many others suggested I try 4 x 5.........I like it even though it frustrates me

I would say all of the above is quite reasonable, I know of many others on or off of here that have tons more gear than me and good on um I say.........everyone to there own :) :)

You can't take it with you

You asked if the M10 was becoming more available. I answered yes.

Stop me if I'm moving too fast for you.

You need to slow down..............

I just emailed Leica in Barcelona to see if they have a silver one

Logic after the fact..., ignoring fits and starts, like the M system. But, despite any rationalization, you've done all this in 5 or 6 years as your first foray into photography. I've used as much gear, but it's taken me close to 50 years. Anyway, that doesn't address my question.

7 years ago Jeff was my first camera A Nikon D7 something

Your question was........... do I think I would be a better photographer if I didn't by new cameras, I would say no. And the reason being is that I would have got board with my D7 (whatever it was ) and given up on photography and become a philatelist :)
