Bit of an interesting (and happy story) - When I reserved my M10, the price was $500 less than it was when I received the call to come and pick it up (about two months later). Luckily, I was able to purchase it at the original price from when I made the preorder. Did anyone else have a similar experience?

Picked mine a week ago, old price.

I was informed by my dealer that they will ask me to pay the new, higher price, despite the fact that I've been on their wait list since January.

That was not acceptable to me as a customer, so I called three other dealers, and got three different policies.

At best, I can start all over again on another wait list.

Things like this, similar to them going back on their word on the M9 corroded sensor support, have me looking at alternative systems.

Did you pay a deposit? My deposit reciept states clearly there may be price fluctuations. Do you expect your dealer to take the hit? Starting over will certainly be at the current price.

No -that wasn't an option.

Leica raising prices while people are waiting for the camera is going to cause problems for someone - either the dealer or the customer will "take the hit" as you call it. The dealer has to decide what keeping their customers is worth, or the customer has to decide what sticking with Leica is worth.

Starting over will certainly be at the current price.

I joined a list with a dealer that will honor the original price, shortly before the price hike. I expect to drop off though.
