fotografr Posted May 13, 2017 Share #1 Posted May 13, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Rarely does one hear anything positive spoken about the Common Grackle. They are generally despised because they tend to not get along well with other bird species. Still, they have an undeniable beauty, particularly with the purple coloring on the head and neck, the yellow eyes and the steel gray beaks. V114 Welcome, dear visitor! microview Posted May 13, 2017 Share #2 Posted May 13, 2017 Sharp eyes, sharp pic! Technical info? In UK the jay is wonderful in its plumage colours, but not liked by other smaller birds!
platypus Posted May 14, 2017 Share #3 Posted May 14, 2017 Sharp as a tack! A beautiful photo, we don't have Grackles in Australia, common or otherwise.
Herr Barnack Posted May 14, 2017 Share #4 Posted May 14, 2017 (edited) @fotographr, your image is simply outstanding! Very well made and processed. As is the case with the Common Grackle, the Blue Jay (Cyanocitta cristata) is not liked much by some folk in my area although I am at a loss to understand why. They are a truly beautiful bird; they do no damage to anything nor do they harm other birds, best as I can tell. otto.f Posted May 14, 2017 Share #5 Posted May 14, 2017 (edited) This really is a good wildlife portrait: composition, timing and the exactly right focus in the eye, the beak staying loose right against white part of pilar as background, the body language, beautifull! albert Posted May 14, 2017 Share #8 Posted May 14, 2017 Brent, So why didn't you tell me years ago to convert to DNG !? Actually, I don't have a clue as to what it is but I do know that you are A REAL PHOTOGRAPHER and have been for a coon's age. Your photograph, once again, proves it. Adobe provides a free DNG converter that you can download from their site. Since DNG is a universal format you can then open and work on them without having to rely on propriatary software.
