volmistral Posted May 13, 2017 Share #1 Posted May 13, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does anyone know the answer to this? Between 1998 and 2002, around 50,000 M6 TTL were made (according to general SN lists out there). Trying to find out how rare the .85 model is in Silver and/or Black. The same list says 650 but I'm sure it is more than that? Also emailed Leica and will report back if I hear. Any ideas out there??

volmistral Posted May 16, 2017 Author Share #3 Posted May 16, 2017 Heard from Leica and looks like we may never know the answer.... Black:Silver = 3:1 "Hello, I’m not able to give you an correct answer to your request. First of all I don’t have access to the production figures, as they are not open to the public. Furthermore we had a data-system change back in 2000, when the LEICA M6 TTL was still current portfolio. The old production figures are no longer available and the records are very imprecise and incomplete. Even the Serial numbers got mixed up during production of different cameras. I’m not able to give you even a ballpark figure. But die to my experience the relation of the black and silver chromed camera was about 3:1. Maybe this information will help. Sorry for not being able to give a correct answer to your request. Enjoy your day"
