I am fixated on APS-C somehow, but with Metabones there is a way out. To ff (lower case letter!).

Here is an example of the Summicron R 50mm. No CA correction, not cropped, but sharpened. F/stop@8.

I like wide angle lenses. So as I found an Tamron 17mm 3.5, I could not withstand. An Adaptall to Leica R adapter was on Ebay too.

Here is an example: CA had to be decreased, no crop, sharpened and at f/stop @ 8.

Do you see the cat?

Here he is! Last picture cropped from a sensor with 6000 x 4000 pixels.

Not a bad lens, I would say.

Hello jmahto

I used a Sony A6500 with a Metabones ultra.

My booster is for Leica R to E-mount. It costed 400 Euro.

I am testing still, but look at the pictures.

The booster can be fine tuned at infinity. That was necessary, so I think I have got a return copy.

The screw for the tuning is extremely small.

But, there are no lens booster for Leica M! The flange distance of 27,8mm is too little.

R-lenses have 47mm, because they have to let pass the swinging mirror.

I use a Summicron R 50mm. It was necessary to hone at the mount side the stand protection (by van Manen).

Standing on the table with the mount side is forbidden now.

A few years ago a painted window in Straubing (Bavaria) was recognized as being a Dürer design.

Dürer died in 1528, so it was undetected for almost 500 years.

There is no proof for this, no paperwork left. But my guide - C.J. Zink - is convinced too.

The first row (the clouds) are not the originals.

I had my Summicron 50mm with the lens booster with me.

I took 3 pictures in drive-mode. They were the basis for a HDR picture.

After editing in Photoshop this was the result.

In the Natural Museum of Salt Lake City with Summicron R + lens booster.

Interesting is, that there is no flare from the spotlights.

Which APS-C? Which booster? What cost? Loss of sharpness in corners?

I use Nex-6 as cheap backup to M240. Would be interested in details....

Hi jmahto, you seem to be a follower. :D

My pictures run through Lightroom and Photoshop. If you are interested in originals (corners, etc.), send me a mail.

The lens booster is very good, but it isn't  a lightweight combination with camera and lens.

My issue is that I use R on APSC only for tele. For wides I do have M240. I also have Konica Hexanon set in wide to normal that I like. Unless there is a booster for M or Konica mount distance, it is of little use. I read a little about 17 tamaron. I would love to compare that against CV 15 (I use vII) which is very light and I have got some good pictures with. If Tamron plus booster is heavy combo then I am happy with CV15 on M.

In any case, if you have a picture with infinity distance with Tamron 17 then please share the link in direct mail. I will be curious.

The wide angle tests failed, too many parameters. I´ll repeat that.

I compare the Tamron with a VC 12mm 5,6 LTM.

Here is a link to an older test, the 280mm 2,8 with and without lens booster. I think, that the LB is optically very good.

The test without LB is with 2 adapters LEM/LER and NEX/LEM. :(

The weight of the lens booster is 200 gr.

The Tamron + adaptall + LB is 540 gr.

The VC 12mm + adapter weighs 300 gr.
