dgktkr Posted May 6, 2017 Share #1 Posted May 6, 2017 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) What's the consensus? Do a few particles of dust on interior lens faces cause any discernible effect on your images? It might bother one's sense of order and cleanliness, so what do you do about it? My intuition leads me to suspect that tiny amounts of veiling flare might be produced, or that diffuse blobs of light might be visible in a dark area of an image taken in a high contrast situation with a high f-number. What are your thoughts/experience? dgktkr Edited May 6, 2017 by dgktkr
Advertisement Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Hi dgktkr, Take a look here Dust in lens?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pgk Posted May 6, 2017 Share #2 Posted May 6, 2017 Dust can look bad but seems to have little real world effect unless really bad. Almost all lenses will have some dust in them I'd guess. Some of mine do but it really doesn't seem to cause problems.

earleygallery Posted May 7, 2017 Share #4 Posted May 7, 2017 No - you won't see any effect from dust in a lens unless it's a severe case.
Herr Barnack Posted May 9, 2017 Share #5 Posted May 9, 2017 Dust inside a lens causes many people to worry but it is an overblown concern. It is inevitable unless you never take the lens out of its original factory packaging.
