steppenw0lf Posted May 6, 2017 Share #1 Posted May 6, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Has anyone tried the SL lenses on the T or TL ? What are the experiences ? Speed of AF ? OIS ? Battery life ? Is it a good idea to buy a TL instead of an 1.4x extender ? (T gives 1.5x crop) Or rather not ? Very much interested in experience with the SL 90-280 lens. (which is equivalent to 135 - 420 zoom) Thanks for sharing your impressions.

(which is equivalent to 135 - 420 zoom) Thanks for sharing your impressions. I have tried the Vario Elmar 24-90 on the T for just a short while now. Autofocus is slower (than when used on the SL). After using the SL viewfinder, it is a bit frustrating to go back to the T with the visoflex. Image quality is excellent. Cannot comment on battery life or OIS. I re-purchased the T (quite inexpensive on the pre-owned market!) for that very reason - to pick up 1.5x focal length. (The T with my 50mm Zeiss planar is superb, and is quite easy to manually focus with the visoflex. The Noctilux also produced superb images, though focus through the visoflex was more difficult than through the SL. Have not tried the T with my Voigtlander wide angle lenses as I do not suspect that I would use those combinations). Guest VVJ Posted May 6, 2017 Share #4 Posted May 6, 2017 I also briefly tried the 24-90 with similar observations as ropo54. Not exactly something I will try again to be very honest...
Ruz Posted May 6, 2017 Share #5 Posted May 6, 2017 I tried all SL lenses on T, IQ wise, its incredible. But its not suggested as its too big for the body. 50 f1.4 is superb on T, it gives you the 75 summilux on T. AF is not as fast as the SL though, but its a usable AF speed. OIS is fine but I fine it quite difficult to get a steady picture above 1/60 shutter speed, where I can do 1/15 steady with SL.
