Docderm Posted May 6, 2017 Share #1 Posted May 6, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am using the latest version of LR (2015.10 release) and the latest firmware in the M9 1.210 Problem: While the camera info button push shows a 28mm F1.4 lens; the LR metadata is incomplete ..... the LR library module shows a 28mm lens but there is no specifying the Leica Summilux 28mm on the camera, does show camera is M9 with firmware 1.210 ......The LR develop module when lens corrections box is ticked "enable profile corrections.....I get an error message: Unable to locate a matching profile automatically. Suggestions please! My goal is that imported pictures are labelled in LR as done with the summilux 28mm and when I tick the "enable profile corrections" it correctly shows the lens as Leica and the model as Summilux 28mm. diddus Posted May 7, 2017 Share #4 Posted May 7, 2017 The Reader might be defective - when you hit the info button with a lens mounted it should tell you what lens is connected. If it doesn't, the reader might either be broken or dirty. Mine was broken and had to be fixed ... If you manually select the lens you should see the info in LR, so try that first. If that doesn't make it show up either something might be wrong on the software side, in which case I would reset the camera. Hope you'll figure it out! Good luck! Docderm Posted May 7, 2017 Author Share #5 Posted May 7, 2017 (edited) Thanks for the suggestions. Turns out I found a different type of solution which involves some work in Lightroom Here is a link to the explanation, however you may need to register with the site to be allowed to see it. https://www.lightroomqueen.com/premium/lr4premium/develop-module/lens-corrections/ Edited May 7, 2017 by Docderm
Luke_Miller Posted May 8, 2017 Share #6 Posted May 8, 2017 Coded lenses should not require extra work in Lightroom if everything is working properly. I have a couple of uncoded lenses and occasionally will forget to manually select the lens when I mount it. Then I use the LensTagger Lightroom plugin to add the lens info to the metadata. But if I do my part correctly no extra work is necessary.
