Album Posted May 8, 2017 Share #42 Posted May 8, 2017 Für mich eine der aussagestärksten Serie seit langem. Klasse Gesendet von iPad mit Tapatalk
djs Posted May 8, 2017 Share #43 Posted May 8, 2017 Ulli, The picture in post #28 shows Kirkwall Power Station with two chimneys (used to be three) and two heavy oil fuel tanks. In the background is the spire of St Magnus Cathedral, whose foundations were laid in 1137. In the 1980's I was the Electrical Engineer in the Power Station, which at that time supplied all the electricity for the Orkney Islands. The peak load in winter was about 23MW, generated by 9 marine diesel engines. Now the Islands are connected to the UK Grid by two submarine cables, and the power station is only a standby unit. I have enjoyed all your pictures - you have a good eye! Best Regards, Donald
Guest Posted May 10, 2017 Share #44 Posted May 10, 2017 Ronald, Album, Donald, Danke/Thanks!
