And why the two postings for what looks like the same item??

The seller has excellent feedback....... but only for religious book sales   <_<

He's also selling an M240P and M9.  Seller based in the US, items shipped from Far East.  All auctions seem to be ending in roughly 6 hours......  Can't work this out......

Screaming SCAM to me.

Auction format but text says 'buy it now'. Asking you to email directly. Low price...........

Yes, and that note is on every single item up for auction! So is it someone's legitimate account simply hijacked by a scammer?

I guess they must have access to their PayPal account as well: grab the money in 6 hours time and then disappear!

Lotta bids, unrealistically low.  Message says seller will ignore bids.  There's some reason to suspect a seller inexperienced with this sort of goods, but even more to think the account has been hacked.  The bids could be shills.  Has anyone reported it?

These scams are becoming more automated. The idiot seller was stupid enough to steal photos and titles from many different sellers.  I noticed one photo clearly stolen with a large watermark, 'Setadel Studios' who is a trusted dealer. If he sees this ...

If it looks like a trap, it probably is a trap.  And this sure as hell looks like a trap:

I wouldn't touch this "deal" with a ten foot pole - and I'm jonesing for a MM246 big time...

It's gone now. However, both followed the same routine:

Advert is placed as an auction but contains a text containing this information:

  • Item is only sold as Buy-It-Now at a fixed price.
  • All bids on the auction are disregarded.
  • Seller is to be contacted by mail (address given in the text).
  • Usually, some payment methods are mentioned which leave the buyer without any protection.

The text may be included as typed text or as a photograph of a typed or even hand-written notice.

If you see an item which is an auction and carries the note that it is sold at a fixed price, don't bother to look farther. It's in violation of eBay rules. Even if the advertiser had any goods to sell, he was not trustworthy. It's an attempt at fraud or, in other words, a scam. If you report the item to eBay, they will pull it as fast as they can (which, alas, is not fast enough).

They do those things knowing  that every day a fool is born. Don't be that fool.
