Leica 50mm f/2.4 Summarit Price??

Hey Guys, 

 

I have been offered the Leica 50mm f/2.4 Summarit for $1400. It is in great condition apart from the focus ring being slightly loose I think..

 

​What do you think of the price? I feel like it might be too high..

As you probably know, new lens prices at B&H are $1,695 for the Elmarit-M 50mm f/2.4, and $2,295 for the Summon-M 50mm f/2.  I own the Elmarit-M 50 f/2.4 and find it to be great, but if only $300 separates the new and used options for the Elmarit f/2.4 lens, I either go for new or else see if your seller will reduce their price by $100-$200.

Do you mean Summarit-M 50mm/2.4 as the OP describes?

I thought the Elmarits were 2.8.

There is a 50mm Elmar-M 2.8 , but I doubt if B&H (or anywhere else) has a new one, unfortunately.

Too expensive for a lens with loose focus ring IMO. Can only grow looser. Only 50/2.4 is Summarit AFAIK but i guess Elmarit was a typo.
