Popular Post andybarton Posted April 30, 2017 Popular Post Share #1 Posted April 30, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I now have shots from roughly the same spot taken with my DMR/19 Elmarit-R, my Nikon D700/28 Elmarit-R and the M240/24 Elmarit-M This was taken today with the latter. Probably one of my favourite spots in England. Welcome, dear visitor! jaapv Posted April 30, 2017 Share #5 Posted April 30, 2017 So it is not the camera but the subject and the photographer Nothing new there. Wonderful composition makes for three superb shots.

Bateleur Posted May 2, 2017 Share #10 Posted May 2, 2017 I can see why you keep returning Andy, such a rewarding location. Each of your three examples have a unique quality. Thanks for sharing Charles
alun Posted May 2, 2017 Share #11 Posted May 2, 2017 (edited) I think I prefer the first -- the lighting, the processing perhaps, I'm not sure what, but I prefer it. On a related note, just this w/e I finished reading Marguerite Yourcenar's extraordinary MEMOIRS OF HADRIAN. Not an easy read by any means but a fascinating 240-page monologue which seeks to resurrect Hadrian's interior life, his consciousness, his imagination. And of course it touches on H's wall... You might enjoy it if historical fiction is your cup of tea. Edited May 2, 2017 by alun

platypus Posted May 3, 2017 Share #13 Posted May 3, 2017 All are quite wonderful, if choosing a favourite it would be the first one for no more reason than that it appeals to me most. What an incredibly lovely landscape, your feelings for it shine through.
DES Posted May 7, 2017 Share #14 Posted May 7, 2017 One of my fave places too...I have very similar shots. Very nice.

Iduna Posted May 13, 2017 Share #16 Posted May 13, 2017 magnificent series! Each picture is an image of a different aspect of the subject. This is more telling a different story rather than mood only.
Guest NEIL-D-WILLIAMS Posted May 14, 2017 Share #17 Posted May 14, 2017 Very nice Andy....two for me stands out due to the blue sky
A miller Posted May 15, 2017 Share #18 Posted May 15, 2017 The first is my favorite. The colors are most natural (to me). I don't like the over processed digital look of the second and the third is nice but not as well exposed as the first. Lovely depth.
erl Posted May 15, 2017 Share #19 Posted May 15, 2017 Andy, as I may have noted before, landscape is your Raison d'être and your current offering reinforces that. As for comparing the three versions, maybe it is no accident that the first (to me) is the most appealing. I wonder is it because of the superb rendering of the DMR? I think many would agree. I am assuming the marked colour differences are mainly due to lighting on the day, as may be evident from the skies.
andybarton Posted May 15, 2017 Author Share #20 Posted May 15, 2017 Thanks everyone Just for the record, the order shown here is M240 Nikon D700 DMR The second, in a b&w version, is on my study wall. They were all taken at different times of the year and times of day too, hence the difference in colour rendering.
