I think I prefer the first -- the lighting, the processing perhaps, I'm not sure what, but I prefer it. On a related note, just this w/e I finished reading Marguerite Yourcenar's extraordinary MEMOIRS OF HADRIAN. Not an easy read by any means but a fascinating 240-page monologue which seeks to resurrect Hadrian's interior life, his consciousness, his imagination. And of course it touches on H's wall... You might enjoy it if historical fiction is your cup of tea.

All are quite wonderful, if choosing a favourite it would be the first one for no more reason than that it appeals to me most.

What an incredibly lovely landscape, your feelings for it shine through.

The first is my favorite.  The colors are most natural (to me).  I don't like the over processed digital look of the second and the third is nice but not as well exposed as the first.  Lovely depth.

Andy, as I may have noted before, landscape is your Raison d'être and your current offering reinforces that.

As for comparing the three versions, maybe it is no accident that the first (to me) is the most appealing. I wonder is it because of the superb rendering of the DMR? I think many would agree.

I am assuming the marked colour differences are mainly due to lighting on the day, as may be evident from the skies.

Thanks everyone

Just for the record, the order shown here is

M240

Nikon D700

DMR

The second, in a b&w version, is on my study wall.

They were all taken at different times of the year and times of day too, hence the difference in colour rendering.
