How to put D-Lux with wriststrap in camera bag ?

Hello,

finally we got the original Leica camera bag for the D-Lux (109) AND we have the original wrist strap attached to the camera. If you try to put the camera in the bag WITH the wrist strap, you can't close it which is a bit awkward. The wrist strap for my X2 for example has a nylon (?) band that connects the strap with the camera.

For the time being we detached the ring of the wrist strap from the camera and "extended" it by using the nylon (?) band that actually was ment to be used for the lens cap. However, I don't know if I can trust that band since I don't know how the ends are tied together and the camera is -of course- a lot heavier than the lens cap.

So....I hope you know what I mean....my question now is, if anyone has solved that problem or can recommend a strong band/strap to connect the wrist strap to the camera so that we can still use the camera bag.

If necessary, I can upload some photos.

Thank you very much for your replies.

Greetings, Jurgen
