Are There Different Black Finishes?

I have two M-P 240s, both acquired second hand, both black.  The finish on one seems clearly shinier than the other, which seems more flat.  Have there been different black finishes available? Do they carry different model numbers, and if so, where can I locate the model number?

Black paint is standard. Possibly the other is an a la carte black chrome finish.

An additional data point:  the body with the shinier finish shows some obvious brassing where the black finish has worn through, while the flat black body doesn't....although it may not have had as much use.

Black paint is shinier. The black chrome will likely show silvering first (nickel layer in the chroming process) before getting to the same brass underneath.

I am fairly certain my M240 has gotten shinier as it has been used.

 

I think being carried polishes the finish slightly before it wears through and brasses

Could be a better explanation. My M240 finish hasn't worn enough to consider this possibility.

I was also wondering this as well. Purchased my M240 second hand, it has a good amount of brass showing and the black paint is pretty shiny. I believe the camera was made in 2014.
