How Tough is Leica D-Lux 109?

Hi,

I just bought a Pelican Micro Case 1050 for my Leica D-Lux 109.

So, during my first attempt putting my camera (in off condition) into the case, I think I just accidently 'pressed' the camera lens because the case lid kinda 'bounced' back when I was trying to close it. Then, I found out that the camera dimension is actually bigger, so the lens cap hit the inner-lid case surface.

I didn't force to fully close and lock it though, however, I am now a bit worry if my first trial closing the case would have caused any harm to my D-Lux 109 lens.

Do you have any comments?

Do you think the D-Lux 109 is tough enough in such scenario?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts, thank you so much!

I agree with mikemgb as I have squeezed my LX100 into a tight case myself and the camera is just fine.  I now pop off the front section of the case ensuring that the rear cover is the right way around as the lens barrel is off centre and then just pop the front cover on afterwards.  I often just use the rear cover as a half case in dry good weather. Enjoy your 109 they are really useful little cameras. :D

Cheers, Dave

I very much doubt you have done any damage. My 109 has had a few knocks in the time I have owned it and has not suffered at all.
