w44neg Posted April 1, 2017 Share #1 Posted April 1, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, my local Leica store let me test out an M240 earlier; well actually an M-P240. I'm considering one after having a number of cameras that just don't offer the colours/rendition I'm wanting, but I think the 240 may be "there". I shot RAW + JPEG and to be honest, the JPEG files were amazing, but the vignette of the 35mm FLE seemed very pronounced in the OOC files. Is there any way to adjust these files so there's a little less vignette, or perhaps slightly less contrast? For example, I was trying an X100F and you can adjust the Highlight/Shadow tones etc and save the settings within the JPEG file. I tend to PP and did so with the images below, but being able to shoot JPEG once in a while would be a bonus... Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

david strachan Posted April 2, 2017 Share #2 Posted April 2, 2017 Sharpness, Saturation and Contrast are all available for tuning the JPG in the camera menu...save what you want as a User Profile. Your pictures look very contrasty. Vignetting is so easy to fix in post processing, with many image management programs...LR is very good in this respect. You might try to close down your aperture...this will often reduce lens edge darkening. But really is all much easier to fix with the LR sliders. I just leave everything in neutral positions...with all my cameras, and fiddle in post. I have an M-P240 and like it very much; the out-of-camera colours, and B&W are generally excellent. w44neg Posted April 2, 2017 Author Share #3 Posted April 2, 2017 The contrast-look is what I like, but the strong vignettes out of the camera were a bit too heavy. I guess I can't do anything other than shoot raw and PP to avoid this by the sounds of it, as saturation/sharpness/contrast won't affect just the outer area of the image. Obviously WB is way off but you can see the outer edges at f1.4 really were super-dark. The lens was coded I think as Lightroom recognises the 35mm f1.4 Summilux lens in the profiles area.
