jdstall01 Posted March 29, 2017 Share #1 Posted March 29, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just received my m10(first digital M owned or used) and realized that my non 6bit lenses have a very tight fit to the body. So tight that the metal shows scuffing after removing the lens. The 35 sumicron is not as tight as the 50cron. Advertisement Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 Hi jdstall01, Take a look here Tight lens fit. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
SiOnara Posted March 29, 2017 Share #2 Posted March 29, 2017 Sounds odd. Can you supply some pictures to show the marks? Should be tight but not overly tight. I know my MP is looser then my M10.
jdstall01 Posted March 30, 2017 Author Share #3 Posted March 30, 2017 I will get some pics uploaded tomorrow. I've found that my 35cron and 75lux are that perfect snug fit. Crazy thing is that the 50cron is tight on the M10 but not an m6 m7 or m240.
jmahto Posted March 30, 2017 Share #4 Posted March 30, 2017 It could very well be one lens mount that is right. I once had R2M adapter that was too tight on M240. Got that replaced with another one which fits perfectly snug. I guess Leica's quality control needs to be better.
UliWer Posted March 30, 2017 Share #5 Posted March 30, 2017 The lens mount of different M-models may differ a lot in tightness. My M3 is very tight, you always have to use some force to fix the lens. The M10 comes second.
FlashGordonPhotography Posted March 30, 2017 Share #6 Posted March 30, 2017 My lenses are snug but not tight, except one. My six bit coded MATE is very tight. Hasn't affected the camera or operation but I am tempted to send it in for a look. Problem is that MATE parts are rare and it may not be possible to do anything about it, so as long as it works. Have used it on my 240 for a couple of years with no problems. Gordon
