Hi there,

I had a model session with a photography class yesterday.. took around 36 exposures with agfa vista 200 on my leica m2. The film then was sent to a lab and processed within 2 hours. I found out there is like a half black frame on the result and it happens on most of them, and some of the photos looked underexposed. 1 photos in particular looked well exposed, I remember my settings on the day (it was f2 and either 1/250 or 1/125). I should also noted that there are 8 black frames.

My friend pointed out that it could be a shutter problem not closing on properly.  I have attached the result here, anyone had this problem before? Thank you.

Yes, sticky shutter curtain where the curtains move at different speeds. A proper camera service will disassemble, clean off the old, sticky lubricants, apply new lubricants, adjust the curtain springs and curtain speeds. A high percentage of the old cameras I've collected show similar shutter issues, but are always fixed by a good CLA.

Some will try to fix cheaply by just raising the spring tension, but this causes other problems long term.
