Beautiful rendering, looks very much like wide open to me. But it is a bit unusual for the camera to estimate so incorrectly, a half to one stop is more common. Or did you use an ND filter?

Thanks evikne, no ND filter used (it was a dull grey afternoon).

I've looked at the other photo I took of the same subject and that's down as f/2.0 with the same shutter speed but looks identical DOF wise. 

I'm not going to lose a lot of sleep over it, it's possible I inadvertently stopped down or the small light sensor on the M10 was aligned to something else at such short range.
