Edinburgh skyline with Arthur's Seat in the background taken with an M9 and Elmar-M 2.8/50 (cropped to approx 75mm angle of view).  In good light, the Elmar is a remarkable lens, portable (can be carefully collapsed on the M9 without damage) and quite affordable compared with other Leica M-series 50s.

The "one camera, one lens" approach to travel is an excellent discipline.  At one time I thought maybe a 35mm lens was the best option but, looking back over a number of images, the 50mm ones always stand out.  It's a great way to train your eye and frame by choosing where to stand rather than "zooming" in and out.  Some more views of an Edinburgh Spring (late-March) in the year before Covid.  A visit with just the Leica M9 and Elmar-M 2.8/50.
