Is the amount of grain typical with this film?

Sadly... yes, it is.

I had received that film as free of charge. It was an opportunity to review a film. The sharpness is modest, the tolerance is quite lower, the grain structure is limited in terms of aesthetics. Only one good point is cheaper. Yet those considerations make the film that the performance/price ratio is dimmed. Sorry to say that I would not buy it, whereas the film is identically the same as Fomapan 200.

Keep an eye open. Summicron 50 version v on a GFX 50R, cropped to remove most of the heavy corner vignette on the larger sensor. The Summilux 50 aspherical has a much milder vignette in the same setup. The two lenses render an image with very different character.

Let us talk about borders, or even boundaries, of our lives...

I would ruminate about the people in the island, Chios of Greece. The island is so close as only six kilometers from Cesme, Turkey. On the contrary, both governments in Athens and Ankara got used to building up an invisible border among the people sharing the same culture, but different religions. Hence, the man and his shadow in Greece look at another people's land from afar while the Greek fisherman is cultivating in own sea. The border is generally designed in our beautiful minds, whereas having the same ground makes us originated.

From a Norwegian mountain side. M240 with 50mm Summilux Asph, wide open. Just an unedited snapshot, but the light was magical that day. And the lens never ceases to surprise me.
