I was and am still a M user with several M primes (21lux, 35lux, Notcilux, 90 corn, 135elmarit). My personal experience with 1.5 years of ownership and usage of the SL and both 24-90mm & 90-280mm zooms were more than great. I cannot understand why are there so much complaints about the SL zooms from the forum? Especially much on 24-90mm VE. As for me, I just switch back to my M240 with MF primes after sometime of using my SL on AF and vise versa.

I also have a D800, but it doesn't get used as much as it deserves, now that I have the luxury of the SL.   I would go with the zoom(s) for anything other than low light.  I resisted for a while aft

If you are contemplating 3 lenses then why not just get the 24-90 zoom right from the start ...... it is perfect for landscapes and by the time you have bought 3 prime manual M lenses plus the adapter
