colin_d Posted March 5, 2017 Share #1 Posted March 5, 2017 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) If I was to fit a 5.75in (143.75mm) large format lens on my ME what image size would it give? That is, it will not act like a 5.75in lens on the smaller format, but is there a way of determining what view it would provide. Advertisement Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 Hi colin_d, Take a look here Large Format Lens on my ME?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
earleygallery Posted March 6, 2017 Share #2 Posted March 6, 2017 Image size won't change. If the lens is a 143.75mm lens then that's the focal length, and that doesn't change either. You may have problems with focussing it though…..

I've seen large format to 35mm lens equivalent tables and wondered if there was some correlation with the size of the lens I need to be conscious of if I was to buy a LF lens for mounting on the M. There's also a the thread on here where people are posting photos after putting vintage lenses on their Ms and read how the rear cell needs to sit a certain distance from the sensor to get the focus right, and you need special adaptors to fit them to the M. Now I'm starting to think it might be too much trouble.
