Barbed Wire

Barbed wire  - cast aside

M9/75 Summilux

Hello Dee,

Nice photo.

I don't know what the rules are in Australia, but: If its permissible on Public Land, or with permission on Private Land: You might consider taking some of the barbed wire that is no longer being used with you when you go home after you are done photographing it. Because: No matter how photogenic old barbed wire might be: When it no longer has a purpose it can cause as much death & misery to migrating or local Wildlife as leaving a poisoned bait along their trail'

Old barbed wire removed from Recovering Habitat can be recycled & reused in an Ecologically Friendly manner.

Even if it ends up being made into new barbed wire it would none the less remove Commercially no longer needed barbed wire from where it is an Ecological Problem & lessen the need to damage the Earth to mine new Iron to make new barbed wire & to mine more oil, or other fuel, to convert the iron ore to steel.

Also, please remember that the material that is NOT appropriately recycled is DEFINITIONALY: That material which comes from the: Most Environmentally Threatened, most Important to Save, Most Expensive to Mine & Most in Need of Protection: Source of that material that there is, because:

If it was not necessary to mine it: That is the 1 that would be saved.

Best Regards,

Michael

What a great thread.  Thank you Robert for starting it.  Anyway, one taken on this morning's walk around Buckland Abbey...
