the canon 40mm f2.8 is the cutest lens i've ever attached to SL. hahahaa... yes the af works with about 1s focus speed. not very reliable but it works and the most compact lens on SL. i set the saturation high, contrast high and sharpness very on this lens. the image quality on this lens is very standard though =)

i gave up on this adapter. you guys... Goodluck  :D

why? Pretty much all of the L lenses work. Only Sigma 35/50 not work. What else can you ask for? You can't expect to slap on a low quality/cheap lens and want it to work as native lens. "High expectation is the deposit of disappointment" :)

Is it possible that there are different versions out there?

It tried my EOS/SL Adapter with the 135/2 L and there was no AF at all.

Any Ideas?

There is only one. Do you have the latest firmware on your adapter? My 135L focus fast.

i only ask for consistent focus and reliability. the adapter simply just error and restart too many times. the autofocus is far from any kind of used expect on tripod and still subject. i guess its very very limited. the adapter simply used for manual focus only. why bother to make the autofocus function. moreover, the burst rate is significantly reduced whe using the adapter. i think i'd be more happy if they make only manual focus adapter.

i've used these lenses the most to shot the last 20 wedding gigs with no issue. Very consistent focus and reliability.

16-35mm f/2.8 mkiii

24-70mm f/2.8 mkii

24-105mm f/4 mkii

50mm f/1.2

Sigma 85 ART

Sigma 135 ART

I don't really know what kind of lens you have and your expectation would be. I do this for a living and i wouldn't want to mess with it on a "live gig"  You also should know that AF-C will not available with this adapter so forget about trying to burst it at 11fps. If you want fast, auto focus, AF-C get the T lens (11-23, 35) while waiting for Leica to release more SL lenses. or check out the Handevision IBERIT, 5 lenses are out now.  (24mm, 35mm, 50mm, 75mm and 90mm f/2.4). All native mount, MF. Price is also very affordable.

Same with the Nikon-adapter; I switch between the electronic Leica-Nikon adapter yielding 3.5 fps (plus AF and aperture settings) and the manual Novoflex-Nikon adapter with 11 fps (but without possibilities to change aperture on the Nikon E lenses).
