Leica M8 - push rather than use higer ISO?

Hi M8'ers,

 

I always wandered, why, when shooting raw, the images from M8 looked subjectively better when shot at lowest available ISO and pushed up in PP, than those of higher ISO settings. I guess it has been mentioned here several times, but I found this article on DP Review, which gives perfect technical explanation why it could be the real case and not just an impression. I infer M8 simply has relatively low downstream noise which allows for this mode of use. It is a bit older post from DP Review, but I hope you find it useful as much as I did.

The M8 responds very well to being pushed, sometimes by as much as 4-5 stops.
