The versatility of the Noctilux 0.95 on the SL <Image Thread>

Below are a few shots taken with the Noctilux 0.95. When I first bought this lens about 3 years ago, I really bought it for its fun use shooting in bars and getting all these squiggly circles and such. I was shooting it on a M240 at that time and at 0.95 struggled most of the time to nail focus. I traded it in with all the rest of my M gear for the S006.

I then bought an SL about 6 months ago and bought it prima marly to use with a new Noctilux 0.95, still trying to get all the squiggly bits (I like squiggly bits) but I then realised that this lens can also be used as a everyday lens on the SL due to the ease of focusing............ Below are some examples.

Maybe some of you other guys that also use the Noctilux on an SL can add some more pictures here showing off the versatility of this combination.

I like numbers 1, 3 & 4. #2 would have benefitted from a stop or so smaller aperture so that the whole of the prow was in focus, whilst still having a soft background.

Anyway Neil, enough of this digital stuff - what's happening with your LF experiments?  Much more important!  ;)

Neil, you count in dog years.  In early December you still hadn't bought the SL, thinking it was too ugly.....  http://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/267013-sl-and-noctilux-combination/?p=3159451

So, barely 2 months ago.  And in between then and now, you've spent ages exploring LF.

That's ok, it's hard for us to keep track of you, too.

Yea I'm still heading down the LF road, once I figure out why I am getting so much dust then I will start using it on a daily basis. I'm currently doing a major renovation on my home in Phuket Thailand and that will include a proper darkroom :) :)

Not here in a technical thread please. Start a Noctilux-on-SL image thread in the M lenses forum if you don't mind.

I like No. 1 - it has a very 1960s feel about it.  Well composed, well conceived, and perfectly timed.

The Noct is the perfect 50 for the SL, in my view.  The purple fringing which is prevalent on the M camera isn't so much of a problem on the SL, and stopped down the Noct performs pretty much as well as the 50 Summilux.

Congrats....you'll enjoy (I designed and built 4 of them since the 80's....but now all lightroom).

I think you should keep working a lot with the SL and Noctilux (or other M lenses).....your work now is much more free and creative, I think, than when you initially tried an M.  I agree with John on your first color shot.

Neil...I agree with you that a Noctilux can be an every day lens on the SL. I carry the 50 f/1 as you know; with the SL the possibilities become endless.

have you got any pictures to share from your 50 f1?

My first attempt with my brand new SL and the Nocti at 0.95. No post processing in LR other than compensating for the -2/3s at which I default shoot.
