John Z. Goriup Posted February 20, 2017 Share #1 Posted February 20, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) This one's for Pecole - one of the six Pratt & Whitney R 4360, 4300 horsepower, 71.5 liter displacement, 28 cylinder ( 4 rows of 7 cylinders each ) super-charged and water-injected air-cooled motors from a B-36 "Peacemaker". When the B-36 was introduced in 1948, it was the largest plane flying, with 230 foot wingspan, 10,000 mile range and 90,000 pound weight - it was so large it was nicknamed the 'Aluminum Overcast'. Suuumm55 Posted February 20, 2017 Share #2 Posted February 20, 2017 the designer of this machine seems playful - but when it serves the force .... for a technique recording the typical but matching black and white
stuny Posted February 20, 2017 Share #3 Posted February 20, 2017 Well done, but the design makes me think of what a rat's nest would look like if straitened up a bit.

John Z. Goriup Posted February 22, 2017 Author Share #6 Posted February 22, 2017 Thanks, Stuart. A little crop and it looks like a modern sculpture - or like Giger´s phantasies ! https://slowsoulburn.files.wordpress.com/2014/02/hr-giger_003406131.jpg Interesting you should mention Giger, because that was my first thought exactly when I saw the above, but to my eyes a different viewpoint, longer focal length ( there was no cropping ) and a B & W conversion was required to transform a mundane industrial object into something more interesting that invited a closer second look. The attached image below is what initially caught my attention, but it just didn't seem worthwhile. Welcome, dear visitor!
