Leica Q - the image thread

I don't have that confidence to shoot at ISO more than 3200. What camera setting did you use for this one?

This picture is only 800 iso. I prefer to rely on low speed (with VR) and large aperture and Leica Q is perfect for that!.

I consider 6400 as a limit usually, but i am a little bit conservative :-)

Still getting used to the 28mm "restriction". Would have liked to have a longer lens for the horses, but I suppose shots like this show the bigger story.  Any thoughts?

That's a superb shot. I think it would have been worse with a longer lens. If you wanted to do a shot focusing on the horses, I reckon you would have had to be much closer, whatever lens you were using.

Sorry for the almost identical image. I'm still getting acquainted with my Q and this is just outside the bedroom [emoji119]

It looks like some of the grain is coming from air quality rather than high ISO.

You could try doing a long exposure, if you have a mini-tripod or just rest the camera on the balcony/window and take the shot using the wireless app (keeping hold of the camera strap!). This one in Bangkok, about 70 floors up, was an 8 second exposure at f/16 and ISO1250.

You can see a bit of the balcony ledge in the lower part of the frame !!!

p.s. Re previous post. The problem with these shots is getting even light distribution. John's has quite large dark areas, in mine there is a football game on the roof of the car park lower right that is almost burnt out, also the advertising board on the block on the left. Could do with some exposure editing.

Fantastic photo! Thanks for the tip. Will do just that.

Which part of BKK is that? I used to live at Sathorn road. [emoji106]

We were staying at the Lebua on the 55th floor (not 70th, there are only 59!), nice suite with 270 degree views. Only stayed there because we met the manager when Lebua managed the Devi-Garh near Udaipur. The Lebua BKK has a cool rooftop bar with great cocktails.

The Mandarin looked nicer, but full of Chinese businessmen. Had dinner and went to a show there.

This was in the Sathord Road direction. You will recognise the Sathorn City Tower in the middle of the image (the big black one)
