Shutter recocking vs ISO setting and shutter speed

A friend of mine noticed, and I have also verified this on my M10, that above certain ISO the recocking of the shutter is substantially delayed. For instance at 1/4 sec and ISO 800 the recocking time is quite normal but increasing the ISO to 1600 there is a clearly audible delay.  At 1/8 sec and ISO 1600 the dealy again is negligible... I have not verified more combinations and I guess it is a feature but, just to be sure, has anybody else noticed the same?

TIA

It appears that the M10 takes a dark frame for noise reduction even for relatively short exposure times at high ISO values.

ahhh...ok. Just did another test. This only occurs with slow shutter speeds. If I set to 1/24th at ISO 100 and ISO 6000 I can hear the difference.

This only seems to happen at 1/24th or slower. At 1/30th and above I don't experience this.

Looks like I didn't read your first post clearly describing the issue at slow shutter speeds.

Now that is interesting! Thank you. I hope Leica offers an over-ride.

M10 manual - English version - p.175:

• Following exposures with slower shutter speeds (below approx. 130s, differing depending on other menu settings) a data processing procedure takes place to reduce this annoying phenomonen that takes the same time as the exposure. This doubling of the “exposure” time can be significant at longer exposure times, and must be allowed for. During this time the camera should not be turned off .

At shutter speeds of more than 2s, the message "noise reduction 12 sec"appears in the monitor.

Everyone calm down. Yes, I know you are calm, I meant that other person. This is identical behavior to the 262 and 240. There has never been a way to turn it off. Page 169 of the M10 manual or page 83 of the M-D manual or page 182 of the 240 manual.
