drjon Posted August 8, 2007 Share #63 Posted August 8, 2007 The original pano file was 100 mb. I used .tiff files to make the stitch.

mhleo Posted August 15, 2007 Share #67 Posted August 15, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello Marie-Helene, did you have enough time to shoot, and figure it all out with respect to stitching? Hello Carsten, I have been in Brittany a few days and had no Internet connection. Here is another attempt. This time I managed to get rid of the extra control points that did not fit at all (like linking Picture 1 with Picture 3, as it is not a 360° pano), but struggled to get the horizon horizontal... Obviously I am a beginner here when I compared to the examples in this thread. Welcome, dear visitor! carstenw Posted August 15, 2007 Author Share #68 Posted August 15, 2007 It looks good! I also have not yet familiarised myself with all the tools. There is a verticals tool, and when drawing a vertical line, it also draws a horizontal one, which you can line up with the horizon itself. Once you have drawn the line, you need to press Enter to make it take. You could do that at the end, or for each image. Here is probably makes more sense to do it at the end. ho_co Posted August 15, 2007 Share #69 Posted August 15, 2007 Or better yet, submit the image to the Flat Earth Society to give them visual proof that they are wrong. --HC
Guest sirvine Posted August 25, 2007 Share #70 Posted August 25, 2007 Here's my latest...some wierdness in the bokeh, no doubt, but not at all bad for handheld and unplanned...original is about 45 megapixels Welcome, dear visitor! carstenw Posted August 25, 2007 Author Share #71 Posted August 25, 2007 Nice shot, and nice cars! But... go closer! Really. If you start about 20-30cm in front of the headlight, a little above, wide open, you can get stunning, LF-looking shots. You'll need a lot of shots to cover the image though, so careful planning is essential.

carstenw Posted August 26, 2007 Author Share #73 Posted August 26, 2007 Nice panorama! It looks like it got a little soft in resizing though. Panorama Factory? What is this now, a new player? Windows or Mac or both? I will do a search... Windows only. Too bad.
vanhulsenbeek Posted August 26, 2007 Share #74 Posted August 26, 2007 Let's have some more panos! A new pano at this today's thread: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leica-m8-forum/32333-indonesian-jungle-panorama.html Software used: Ptgui. biglouis Posted August 26, 2007 Share #75 Posted August 26, 2007 I also can highly recommend Autopano which I use for landscape panoramas. Forget the rest and try the best. I used the free Autostitch until it went out of license and for E99 I could not justify not buying it. Great product. LouisB
andybarton Posted August 26, 2007 Share #76 Posted August 26, 2007 Colour or B&W? I think B&W, personally. These were done with Autopano Pro on the Mac. 8 portrait shots here. Welcome, dear visitor! etienne_werner Posted August 26, 2007 Share #77 Posted August 26, 2007 Hi Andy, I very much like the B&W too but I truely like both these renderings. Kind ragards, Etienne
carstenw Posted August 26, 2007 Author Share #78 Posted August 26, 2007 Andy, I generally prefer B&W but here I think I do prefer colour. Both are beautiful.

ho_co Posted August 27, 2007 Share #80 Posted August 27, 2007 Andy-- The shot is stunning, but the black-and-white version takes my breath away! How did you do the conversion? Channel Mixer? The Levels-based procedure from the latest LFI? It's superb! The only thing that bothers me just a little is the tiny puff of cloud over the central peak. In the color version it seems to blend into other wisps of cloud, but in the monochrome version it catches the eye and calls attention to itself. The tonal difference on the hills on the right really gives the b/w image drama that the color version doesn't have. The color version looks like a pleasant summer afternoon, but the black-and-white is ambiguous, with an element of threat. --HC
