Hi Adam, I think it's a uniform :)

As it happens I was in a Portuguese bakery in Cambridge this afternoon for a coffee, bought one of these & took this photo.

🤣  quite possibly, of who what and why I don't know

Ah Pastel de Nata beloved of every Portuguese inhabitant bar me (or so it seems), I actually have a fairly strong dislike of most eggy foods, which rules out about 90% of everything bakeries sell here!! Thank goodness for bolo de arroz and brigadeiro or I might have to chose something healthy from the menu!!!

I woke up today to find the city of Miami slowly vanishing as a dense fog was dropping down to blanket the city.  I put my 90mm Summicron on my M10, stabilized it, and captured this view.  In five more minutes, the buildings had vanished completely.

I've had this lens for ages.  It was damaged when I got it, and I sent it off to Don at DAG Cameras ages ago so he could fix the damaged lens mount.  Now it works fine.  It used to be one of my favorite lenses, but I. don't seem to use it very much any more.  I set the lens to f/10 which seems to get the most out of my old Leica lenses, and used the Visoflex for composing.

I read something here that it's better to set the M10 ISO using the menu system than the knob at the left.  Apparently M10 cameras had some kind of issue long ago.  I'm not sure if that's still the case or not, but I added ISO setting to my "Favorites" menu.  Usually, I just set the ISO to "auto" and let the camera figure out what is appropriate, but for shots like this, I suspect that f/10 is the "best" aperture on old Leica lenses.  Am I right?

The medallion on the jacket is the 1939-1945 War Medal. The face on the medal is George VI, father of QE II.

Since us colonists always associate "the Redcoats" with the UK, I'd assume the rest of the uniform is also British Army. Although possibly not originally from the same soldier - or even as originally worn. Could be bits cobbled together from various sources.

The jacket looks like an antique style (possibly pre-WW2). The jacket button emblems might be for the Highland Light Infantry (City of Glasgow Regiment).

The giant gold "cufflinks" are also consistent with a Scots Guards officer's dress jacket, as is the 3-3-3 arrangement of the buttons (counting the small "belt" button). The collar badges are hard to make out, but look like older and more ornate embroidered versions of the Scots Guards "thistle-head" emblem.

I think the wide red band around the cap signifies a member of the General Staff (i.e. Whitehall/War Office/MoD?). A lack of gold "scrambled egg" on the hat visor indicates a lower-ranked officer.

https://military-history.fandom.com/wiki/Scrambled_egg_(uniform)

The cap badge could be one of several different "EIIR" badges ("Elizabeth II Regina")
