Not to further stoke the ongoing color vs. black and white debate, but I posted an image of this same building, the Carson Mansion, in the M10M forum here. Because it's such a great subject, and I knew I wouldn't get back to Eureka anytime soon, I photographed it with both my M10M and my color M10. Here's the color version. M10, 28mm Summicron

The black and white version looks awfully darn good.  Question is if you did your best b&w conversion on the color version, how would it compare do you think with your black and white version from the M10M?

Thanks for your question. I'd have to darken the sky in post on the color version to match the b&w version, because the orange filter I had on the Monochrom did that in-camera. Without too much processing, though, I think I could make the two versions just about indistinguishable—at least as digital images at this size. However, that said, there are still reasons to own the Monochrom.
