incidentallly, inside the Grand Mosque, there was a small exhibition of photos done with wet plate techniques in the 1850-60s, when it was first possible to make an exposure with the existing light.  It's simpler now.  This was just five out of about eight exposures with the -D, plus a little digital post processing. ISOs varied, from 400 (up) to 4000 (straight ahead).

A very cool shot.

The following shots are from tonight's practice inspired by a long and emotional OVF vs. EVF debate in another thread where almost a fistfight ensued. The lens used, 75 Noctilux, was not meant for these kinds of snaps wide open but its low light capabilities, its reach, and the fact that it is one of the most difficult M lenses to focus with the patch in the window made it ideal for this project. I'm posting these even though most of them don't deserve a second look because I think they work as a group to convey the season's atmosphere that persists at the 'Christmas' market of a city even after Christmas has passed. It's become such a tourist attraction now that they keep the booths open, it seems. It was very refreshing to use the M10-P with the OVF to frame and to focus tonight. I had the feeling that an EVF would have slowed me down in most situations.

This is actually one of my favorites. I like the colors, the light, the way the M10 handles it and how busy the scene is except for the two ice princesses in the center.ISO 640 f/1.25 @1/180 sec.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is the famous BRAT-"WORSCHT"-HAUS. It's located in the "Bermuda Triangle," an area in the center of Bochum, Germany, with a high density of bars and restaurants. What makes this place so special is that it features what many consider the best Curry-"Worscht" in Germany. The Curry-"Worscht" dish was invented after World War II by Herta Heuwer in Berlin. See here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Currywurst. The sausage used to make it at this place is from a small butcher's called Doenninghaus and it can be found as far north as North Frisia, where I had encountered it recently and posted about it in the CL image thread, and even in Berlin. In Germany, there are two strongholds that vie for the best Curry-"Worscht" in the country, Berlin and the highly industrialized Ruhr region, where Bochum is located, with its many football clubs and large working class population (some would include Hamburg but I consider it just a copy cat). When I travel to places in Germany, I usually try a Curry-"Worscht", be it in Dresden, Hamburg, or Berlin, and to me the Doenninghaus sausage is the best I've had. It has a nice, firm, crispy skin on the outside when prepared right and a delicate, tender, juicy inside. It harmonizes so well with the spicy curry sauce at the BRAT-"WORSCHT"-HAUS, where the sauce is actually cooked and doesn't just consist of ketchup topped with curry powder, the way many "Worscht"-Dealers offer it and the way I hate it. They do have an online shop, BTW. The sauce and the Doenninghaus sausage are both gluten-free.

Edit - I forgot to mention that the Doenninghaus butcher is also located in Bochum.
