jimleicam3 Posted January 20, 2017 Share #1 Posted January 20, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have sold almost everything (camera wise, M8, all my Cannon stuff) waiting for the new M 10. I still have my X 2, but that too must go. I have a 35 mm Cron and a 50 mm Lux. I have no use for video. So looking at the new specs of the M10, the better viewfinder and display, plus the Wi-Fi, are really great. But my question is: is it worth the $1200.00 additional cost? At the same time, I am wondering if it makes sense to buy a camera that was introduced 1 1/2 years ago. Cheers!!
Advertisement Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 Hi jimleicam3, Take a look here New M 10 vs Type 262. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
tom0511 Posted January 20, 2017 Share #2 Posted January 20, 2017 I would say it depends if you plan to also use the EVF? IN case you will it could be worth. And if you use ISO3200 and higher more often? I am trying to decide if I replace the 262 with the M10 for the reasons mentioned above. I am also interested in the color, but have no opinion yet in this regard.
matlep Posted January 20, 2017 Share #3 Posted January 20, 2017 The sensor in the M262 has slight improvements over the sensor in the M240.
Mr.Q Posted January 20, 2017 Share #4 Posted January 20, 2017 I was also eyeing the 262 prior to the M10 release, but now the 262 has lost it's appeal. The M10 seems better in every aspect, except for it's weight and price.
Paulus Posted January 20, 2017 Share #5 Posted January 20, 2017 The M 262 still is a camera of the"4 year old "generation. I never would buy a M 262 now I have the chance to buy a M 10 . The M must be better in all viewpoints IMHO. The M 262 will be no competition with the M 10. On the other hand it seems logical to me that the price of the M 262 will drop about € 500,- /€800,- thanks to this new camera if you wait a few months you'll get a M 262 for les money and you have a lot of quality for your money. But on the other hand batteries for the M10 is half the price compared to the M262.
