I dropped into the Los Angeles Leica Store today 1) to see if I needed to put down $1K to be on a "serious" list, as has been reported, and 2) to see how many M10s they have been getting in.  The answers:  1) They aren't taking deposits. If you're on the list, you're on the list.  2) To date, they've received about 10-12 of each color - he didn't know the exact figure. Nor did he know how quickly they'd be getting more; they know when they get them. At the moment, they (LA) have over 100 people signed up.  He told me this camera is equal to/more popular than the Q, and it was almost a year before they had their Q waiting list customers fulfilled and actually had cameras to sell in the store.

I'm #51 on the black M10 list - but he told me that there are (obviously) many people who drop out, or have ordered in multiple places.  I think I'm optimistically looking at another 3-4 months.  Your location may vary.

Wow, cant believe they have over 100 preorders. I received their first M10...looks like the M10 is going to be a huge success for Leica.

I have yet to walk in there without them telling me that they have 100 people signed up for whatever product I'm looking at and I'd better hurray and add my name fast... Nice folk there, but I get turned off by that sales approach.

It turns me off rather than on.

M10 in the terminal Z Leica store is no longer prominently displayed this morning.  I guess the demos can be sold now.

Interesting that even if Wetzlar has released local Leica dealers/boutiques to sell their demo units... that they would this early in the product cycle.

I ordered a silver M10 from B&H on Jan 20. I was told at that time I was one of the first on the list and would be getting a camera from the first shipment by Jan 31.

I've contacted them over the weeks and they story kept changing and now it is that they have no idea when anything will arrive.

My luck the shipment will come in on a Friday afternoon...

How does it look/feel? As nice as a Luigi?

I have the black version. I think it is quite nice. I don't have the M10 yet to check fit, but the finish is great. The leather seems thinner and the stitching is finer, which I like. I also like the magnetic flap rather than the button down version. The tanning is flawless.

Very depressing thread. One would think people would be reporting their cameras shipping.

Here's some good news: I had some unforeseen motorcycle related expenses over the weekend, which means it's inevitable that I'll be getting a call today, asking me to come pay for my M10.

Sorry to hear about the unexpected moto expenses, edw!  Those motorbikes can be even worse than Leica's!
